Web Sites

I have been creating and managing web sites since 1995, a fact which makes me feel old. Some of these aren't even around any more--I won't link to those--but the rest are thriving. Please feel free to click through and take a look.

Game Company Sites:

Green Ronin Publishing, LLC
In 2002 I took over the job of managing GreenRonin.com, the company site for Green Ronin Publishing. Green Ronin has grown into a respected, award-winning, mid-level hobby game publishing company, and I am proud to have them as coworkers and friends. GreenRonin.com has grown over the years, spawning other sites to better focus fan attention and spread the load around. The main feature of this site is the Miva Merchant product catalog / online store, featuring almost 300 products for sale in physical and electronic format. This site uses Movable Type as a content management system.

Mutants & Masterminds
This is the first site to be spun off from GreenRonin.com, when it became clear that our innovative superhero roleplaying game, Mutants & Masterminds, was going to be something big. This site is the main repository of M&M news and product support, and itself spun off the next site in this list. MutantsAndMasterminds.com uses Movable Type for content management.

Atomic Think Tank
This is the official forum for Mutants & Masterminds, allowing fans of the game to connect with each other as well as with the designers and developers. It runs on the phpBB open-source bulletin board system.

True20 System
This site currently runs on pMachine, but I'll soon have it converted to Movable Type. It is the official site for Green Ronin's True20 Adventure Roleplaying.

Firefly Games
I programmed Firefly Games' retailer locator system a few years ago, using PHP and MySQL. Recently they brought me on as a consultant when a problem with their hosting company brought down their entire site.

Paradigm Concepts, Inc.
I rebuilt Paradigm Concepts' entire web site from the ground up, using Movable Type, phpBB, and ZenCart.

Erasable Games
I created the Erasable Games site using ZenCart and WordPress.

Authors' Sites:

Kahaner.com
Bestselling author and speaker Larry Kahaner hired me to re-do his site, which he had done himself in Microsoft FrontPage. He wanted to update the look & feel while retaining the ability to update the content himself.

JessLebow.com
Another bestselling author and an award-winning game designer to boot, Jess Lebow wanted a simple site to showcase his accomplishments.

Other Sites:

Sass Trumpet Studio
My wife teaches private trumpet students for a living, using only this site and word of mouth to generate business.

Brassapalooza
The Pacific Northwest's Premier Trumpet Camp, Brassapalooza, needed a site to provide information about the camp, including an online application and payment.

DreamMasters Construction
This construction company wanted a more professional look for their site, and I was glad to help.

Disappeared Sites:

Rubicon Games, Inc. (defunct)
This was the official site for Rubicon Games, Inc., a small game company I helped found in 1995. Our claim to fame was that we acquired the groundbreaking tabletop roleplaying game Everway from hobby game industry powerhouse Wizards of the Coast, and then didn't have enough money to do much more than publish one very nice book for it. RubiconGames.com may have brought the funk, but is now defunct.

Games & Gizmos (defunct)
Rubicon Games merged with Games & Gizmos, a Seattle-area game store chain, in the midst of the Dot Com era. True to the times, we acquired venture capital, got some swanky offices down by beautiful Lake Union right next to the Gates Foundation, and built an online store that never had a chance against Amazon or eBay. We discovered this after spending too much money on the dream, and our stores met the same sad fate as our web site.
